Ornate Flowers

Hello,

I'm just taking some time out from preparing my January class to quickly post and say "Hi". I'm trying to start the new year by being prepared in advance, I wonder how long that will last mmmmmmmm.

This card is another one I did for my mum at the beginning of the month. I've used the Ornate Flowers stamp set. I have recently treated myself to the full set of Stampin' Up! markers so thought I'd try them out with this card. I used Garden Green and Regal Rose for the flowers and stamped onto So Saffron cardstock and mounted this onto Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose. I've also used the scalloped boarder punch on the longer pieces of card. The sentiment is from Occasional Quotes which is a level 3 hostess set.

Thank you for stopping by.

Just Believe

Well its nearly 2011 so I thought I'd better pop on and update you on what I've been doing.... which isn't a lot really as I was working up until 3pm Christmas eve... bummer. Still one good thing is it was my sisters turn to cook Christmas lunch so had a really relaxing day. Then in the evening all the family gathered at my mums and we exchanged even more pressie it truly was a wonderful day, one of the best I've had for a long time.

I got some fantastic pressies too off my family. Here's few of the things I got: off Dean I got a new lappy, my favourite perfume, Nicola was more perfume (do you think they're trying to tell me something...lol) tickets to see Lee Evans in September 2011, Kirsty a new watch, earrings and lots lots more. I was sooo spoiled. Its good to have such a loving family and a added bonus to have good friends as well.

Anyway, below is a card I made my mum for her birthday at the beginning of the month. The technique used is brayering and I just love the way the card turned out. It was thanks to my upliner, Victoria, that I conquered the brayering technique as she sent me a great video on it, thanks Victoria

All products used are SU and the stamp set is Just Believe.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I'll be back later with some chrimbo cards I made.

Rain at last....

Yay its raining and the snow is starting to disappear. Well my week off has been a washout regarding getting my christmas shopping done. If we get up early enough tomorrow, and the roads remain clear, we might venture out to try and find some pressies. I was meant to be helping my upliner, Victoria, at a craft fair tomorrow but she had to call it off due to the weather. Still, something to look forward to at a later date

Now for another card. I did this one as a convention swap. Boy did it take ages to make 25 of them as the card invovled the masking technique and all the images and pieces were stamped indiviually. It was heartbreaking when I made a mistake right at the end of the card and had to start again. Luckily this only happened about 3 times...phew.

The stamp set, Make a Monster, is a new one in the current SU catty and such fun to work with. All materials used were SU and consisted of the following:
Very Vanilla, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise card
Inks - Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, Garden Green and Rose Red.
Scalloped Edged boarder punch and word window punch

Thanks for taking time to look at my blog.

Anyway, I said I'd pop some pictures on here of the cards I have done recently for people and here's the first one. It was for a friends birthday last months. Hope you like it.

November christmas class

Hello everyone,

Brrr how cold is it? I am so glad I picked this week to have as annual leave... I detest driving in snow so couldn't have timed it better. Whats even better is that hubby is off as well so, if there's any driving to be done he can do it...haha

Well, what a busy time its been for me, hence not posting for ages. I am now back at work full time and boy is it busy. I have also been to the SU convention in London at the beginning of November and it was a fab experience. I met a fantastic bunch of ladies, received some great swaps and had a few days away from the family. It was inspiring to hear of the other demo's success and how they acheived it, thank you all.

Now for my November class. It was another christmas theme and I had a blast. The class was small but I find that much better as I can focus my attention on my ladies who are just starting out as crafters but they always give 100% in everything they try.

The stamp set used was Contempo Christmas with the matching punch and wheel. The class should have lasted 2 1/2 hours but turned into 4, so you can tell what fun we had. I had to laugh at my sister in law. I'm sure she won't mind me telling you she hates cutting out so had a "fit" when we had to cut out the tiny trees... she made us laugh sooooo much our sides hurt, thanks Steph. All the items used are SU.

I will be posting more pictures over the next few days both of cards I've made and of the garden covered in snow, it looks so pretty.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and read my blog.

Big warm hugs

Where does the time go...

I can't beleive its nearly 3 weeks since I last posted!!! Such a lot has happened since I was last here. I finally returned to work last week having been off for quite a while. If felt very strange the first day but seemed better the next. I'm doing phased return so easing in gently.

I've also helped my upliner, Victoria, at a couple of crafting events and workshops. Boy were they hectic but fun. It really is nice to meet lots of lovely ladies who enjoy crafting like I do. On top of this I've been making my card candy and general swaps for the SU convention thats being held on the 4-6 November. Its in London so a couple of nights away from the family will be a nice treat.

Here's one of the swaps I have made, will show the others at a later date:

I have used Make a Monster stamp set, its so fab and especially suitable for male themed cards. All products are SU and are available from the current catalogue.

On top of all this it was my birthday last Wednesday and I had a great day with lots of lovely cards and pressies. Tonight I'm off out for a meal with hubby so might need the paracetamol in the morning...haha

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, hope you've enjoyed it and will be back.

Serene snowflakes class

I've just had some family and friends around for a morning of crafting and we had a blast, just the tonic I needed as not feeling too well today. It was a bit hectic at times but I felt that everyone enjoyed themselves, the cheesy chip butties went down a treat, even my youngest commented on how nice they were...lol

We made a variety of products, as you can see from the photo, with the main theme being the Serene Snowflakes stamp set. All products were SU except the treat bags and the base cards.

Now I need to concentrate on my swaps for convention at the beginning of November and what to do at my next get together on 13 November, wish me luck.

Thanks again ladies for coming, it was a pleasure to see you all and have some fun.

Til next time, love and hugs

Vintage Vogue

Oh my, where has the month gone, it'll soon be christmas.

Now what have I been up too.... not a lot really....lol Well thats not exactly true as I've been doing my card candy swap for the SU convention in November, work on my diploma and a few cards. I was at a SU training event last Friday in Manchester and had such a fab time, met a lot of lovely ladies and, by joining in the swaps, have some lovley cards for ideas for future classes. Myself and Victoria, my upliner, stayed over as we didn't fancy the journey back very late at night. It was a wonderful night away from the kids (for Victoria that is mine are a little older) and, instead of making the most of it by catching up on our sleep we spent the night chatting. For a short while after the training had finished we had the delightful company of 3 other SU demos, Monica, Jo and Paula, thank you ladies it was really nice getting to know you. We finally got to sleep at 4am and we were both up by 7. Boy was it a long day on Saturday but worth it.

I've been making a few cards and last Wednesday was my friends birthday, this is what I came up with.

I used all SU items other than the ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by.

Fresh Cuts card

Its been quite a while since I was last here so thought I'd pop on and say hi. I'm still off work and getting really bored now, roll on the 20th Sept when I have my scan.

On Saturday I had my sister and friend round for a crafting class and had a great time and such a laugh. My sister-in-law was unable make the class so we did one the week before and that was a good time as well so thank you ladies. I'm really looking forward to our next class in October where there will be more of us which = more laughs and giggles.

My sister-in-law had to go into hospital last week for an operation so I made her this card. She is home now and recovering well thank heavens.

Class Cards

Good Morning everyone,

Thought I'd post whilst everyone else is still in bed...lol Tomorrow I have my sister in law coming round to do a class with me and these are the projects we will be making. Its my first class ever and next Saturday I have my sister and a friend coming round to make the same set.... I can't wait.

Yesterday my upliner, Victoria, visited with her 2 little boys. It was such fun running around after Blake who's only one. I think he's going to be an electrician like his daddy as all he went for was wires and anything electrical, especially my hubbys pc....lol I am hamster sitting for my sister and Zac was fascinated by them, kept calling them "rabbits"...bless. It was such a lovely time and so funny seeing us all chase after Blake.

Thanks for visiting and hope to see you back again soon

Two step bird punch

Sorry I haven't posted for a while but, to be honest, nothing exciting has really happened. I've been planning a craft class that I'm holding on 4 September for family and friends. I will post a picture of the cards and box we are making shortly.
Yesterday was my anniversary, 23 years, so I made my hubby this card

All products used are SU. To create the background I have brayered over whisper white card in So Saffron ink then placed a love heart shape, cut out of a post it note, onto the top. With the shape in place I then brayered again over the whole cardstock with So Saffron. With Pumpkin Pie I brayered over the top of the So Saffron about half way down, then agan with Rich Razzleberry about a quater of the way down from the top. I then removed the post it note to reveal the love heart.

Thanks for stopping by and please visit again soon xxx

Cupcake Mouse Card

I was lucky enough to win some digi inmages in a challenge I participated in a few weeks ago so decided to use one of them this afternoon after a disasterous vist to the hairdressers. On Thursday I booked myself and my daughter, Kirsty, in for this afternoon. Before out appt we decided to go to a well known phone shop to see about K's phone as its playing up, they couldn't help us so went straigt to the hairdressers across the road, arriving 30mins early. As we walked in the owner looked at us blank so I told him we had an appt for 3.30 with a certain stylist. He looked in the book, no appt and the stylist had left 5mins before. It turns out that when I phoned on Thursday for the appt she had put it in the diary for Thursday instead of Saturday... so not a happy bunny as going out for a meal and hair not done....grrrrr

Anyway, to relieve my frustration and after a visit to Morrisons and Tescos so K could get some books, which she didn't btw, we got home and I made this card. Apart from the image all the products are SU, the image was coloured in with SU chalks brilliant blue, pixie pink and chocolate chip, I the used the card stock to match and WW ribbon. The scolloped edge was made using the SU boarder punch.

I am joining in the following challenges:

Well its been quite a busy week for me crafting wise. I've made 30 cards for a SU meeting I'm going to on Sunday, can't wait, I've decorated a bag that my upliner Vicky kindly bought me for the SU convention swaps in November, but its getting used on Sunday, and a 16th birthday card for my niece.

Finally my nieces card.

I have stamped serveral little flowers in various SU inks using the greenhouse garden set to make the number 16, the patterned paper is from Tea Party, cs used is pink passion, rose red and whisper white and melon mambo ribbon. The sentiment was printed onto whisper white cardstock.

Special Friend

I wanted to let my upliner, Victoria, know that I appreciate all her support and friendship she has shown me since becoming a demo. Not only has she been there for all the silly questions I've asked about SU but also through my recent illness, always at the end of the phone or txt whenever I needed to moan...lol. So, to let her know I valued our friendship, I did her this card.
